Summary: RealPlayer doesn't play "unsupported" media content on
amazon.com/amazon.de
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Beta 1 plus
Platform: Other
OS/Version: SuSE Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Enhancement
Priority: P5 - None
Component: X11 3rd Party
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In an answer to my inquiry on the opensuse list I was mailed with the link
http://linuxwiki.de/RealPlayer , where further research gave me
http://de.gentoo-wiki.com/RealPlayer_10_Gold .
It is detailed there in few simple lines, how to get RealPlayer 10.x to play
old-style, "unsupported" media samples e.g. from amazon.de, with the aid of the
8.x/9.x codecs (ddnt.so.6.0, dnet.so.6.0).
/opt/RealPlayer/codecs/ should be of course modified for openSUSE, but maybe
the trick itself is worth to build into the next release, so users wouldn't
need to do it by themselves. Thank you!
