You don't need a log for this issue. Try it yourself on ANY SuSE 10.1
It's a bug. plain and simple. I've been able to update mkrescue and make a CD.
It is NOT POSSIBLE to put initrd from SuSE 10.1 (Open, SLES or SLED) on a
floppy!
