https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=219458 Summary: bootloader (grub) was not installed at all, system unbootable Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: odabrunz@novell.com ReportedBy: mvidner@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com On a pre-Beta2 (a build from Wednesday afternoon) I entered the bootloader proposal, viewed some settings and backed off using Back. But then the system would not boot. So far I have found out that /etc/grub.conf contained only the line "quit", no "setup". Can this have the same cause as bug 219409? Logs will follow. (Workaround: booted a floppy with grub, entered "setup (hd0) (hd0,1)") -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
