With just yast2 running
# ps fax|grep yast2
13907 pts/5    S+     0:00  |   |       \_ grep yast2
13876 ?        S      0:02  \_ kdesu -u root -c /sbin/yast2
13885 ?        Ss     0:00          \_ /bin/bash /sbin/yast2

With yast2 and online_update initialising, I get the same error.
# ps fax|grep yast2
13948 pts/5    S+     0:00  |   |       \_ grep yast2
13876 ?        S      0:02  \_ kdesu -u root -c /sbin/yast2
13885 ?        Ss     0:00          \_ /bin/bash /sbin/yast2
13918 ?        S      0:00 /bin/bash /sbin/yast2 online_update

Click OK on "Another process is accessing the package database" and it returns
to just yast2.
# ps fax|grep yast2
13958 pts/5    S+     0:00  |   |       \_ grep yast2
13876 ?        S      0:02  \_ kdesu -u root -c /sbin/yast2
13885 ?        Ss     0:00          \_ /bin/bash /sbin/yast2

lsof /var/lib/rpm/* shows nothing in use.
