https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216856 Summary: OpenSUSE 10.1 DVD won't work Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andre3d@fastmail.fm QAContact: jsrain@novell.com A perfectly functional OpenSUSE 10.1 dvd doesn't installs on a AMD athlon64 laptop using windows xp x64 (intending to be dual)... The small application called "instlux for opensuse 10.1" doesn't recognizes the dvd, only cds. Reboot from dvd driver alone doesn't works: Windows starts up like nothing is going on. So..... I though it was all about the ntfs/ext3/blah blah stuff... But then I installed fedora core normaly without damage my windows (that's what I want, dual, not format my whole hd)... After that I though: Now I'm going to insert the opensuse dvd and reboot to install it over my fedora's linux partitions... What happens then? Fedora freezes. Ok... So I turn my laptop off and insert the cd before turn on the laptop: Now my computer crashes and I get the message "kernel panic"! Lovely! I know this is just for reporting purposes... But if any of you guys know how to fix this, please contact me ok? I want to install opensuse 10.1 andre3d@fastmail.fm -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
