https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=214348 ------- Comment #3 from ian.grant@cl.cam.ac.uk 2006-10-25 02:56 MST ------- nscd debugging doesn't seem to work. I have tried setting the logfile and setting debug-level to 255 in /etc/nscd.conf but nscd doesn't create the file. I have tried creating the file first and that didn't help either. Note that nscd does not use any appreciable amounts of CPU whilst delaying: see the output from top above: 100% idle, 0% wait etc. The 'other channel' I referred to is via the University of Cambridge Computing Service (licencees) who sent the report to Salford Software in the UK, who then sent it to someone in Novell, somewhere. A few days later I got a request for more information which I sent to the Computing Service, who sent it to Salford Software ... I haven't heard anything back yet. I am trying nscd in the foreground now with -d but all I get is stuff about cache operation.
