2.6.18, as shipped, contains a serious bug in bcm43xx that leads to system
hangs. I was experiencing daily lockups when I moved my laptop between work and
home.

There is a patch available at

I applied a patch from ftp://lwfinger.dynalias.org/, which brings it up to the
latest git, and it has been working fine for nearly a week.
