https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=211223 Summary: gdm logfile location changed from /var/log/gdm to /var/lib/gdm Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 5 Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de QAContact: qa@suse.de The gdm logfiles were in /var/log/gdm in SL 10.1 and are now in /var/lib/gdm in openSUSE 10.2 Alpha 5. I'm not sure if this is a bug, reporting just in case: - In the .spec file, there is EXPANDED_LOGDIR=/var/log/gdm ./configure which looks like you want to have the logfiles in /var/log/gdm (where they were in SL 10.1), but this does not seem to work any more - In the %pre scriptlet, there is %pre # Remove old logs (#56205). rm -f var/lib/gdm/*.log* which looks like you don't want to have them in /var/lib/gdm (where they are now) Furthermore, I have quite a lot of the following in my syslog: Sep 8 22:42:51 linux-lebr gdm[3171]: gdm_config_parse: Logdir /var/lib/log/gdm does not exist or isn't a directory. Using ServAuthDir /var/lib/gdm. And last, the gdm package does not own the /var/log/gdm directory any more. Can you please check if this is intentional? I can't access bug 56205. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
