https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=210991 Summary: XEN requirements and procedures Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Documentation AssignedTo: rwalter@novell.com ReportedBy: Ulrich.Windl@rz.uni-regensburg.de QAContact: ke@novell.com The admin guide has a chapter on XEN, but there is missing some information: 1) The XEN README file states that a XEN installation defaults to VNC being used, but it lacks the details 2) The XEN module of YaST2 requires a graphical environment (in Domain 0), even though XEN User documentation suggests to have a minimal Environment in Domain 0. Furthermore the only reason for YaST requiring a graphical environment seems to be due to the fact that actual installation is performed using an xterm and _not_ VNC (as the README suggests). I think that with using VNC YaST's XEN module would work without a graphical environment. There are still too many things the user has to find out. For example: YaST knows how to build an initial bootable image using some scripts, but it's not mentioned how to do that without YaST. So a user must use YaST to create VMs. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
