Summary: wired interfaces are not up after boot with enabled LDAP
user authentication
Product: SUSE Linux 10.1
Version: Final
Platform: 32bit
OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Network
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: reitenbach@xxxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx

I have setup a notebook with a wireless and a wired ethernet card. It shall use
NetworkManager to setup the interfaces.

NetworkManager and local user authentication using passwd, plugged in ethernet
cable into wired interface:
Notebook starts up, interface comes up, will get its IP address, network is
working fine.

Using traditional mode with ifup to configure the network interfaces, using
LDAP to authenticate users, and having a ethernet cable plugged in:
Notebook starts up, interface comes up, will get its IP address, network is
working fine.

Using NetworkManager and LDAP authentication, with plugged in ethernet cable:
Notebook starts up, but the Interface is not started up. (no UP and RUNNING)
