------- Comment #7 from nteknikk@xxxxxxxx 2006-09-24 08:55 MST -------
Just tried to reinstall 10.2 alpha4 x86_64 on a new Xeon 5160 Dell Precision
490 workstation. Had to use a PS/2 mouse because of the known USB mouse wild
cursor bug. Selected Gnome desktop and added all of KDE. After login to Gnome
both the panel crashed (first right click on it) and Nautilus crashed. Except
Firefox no other application was possible to launche or no control center from
the menu. Was able to rightclick on the desktop first and start a terminal, but
yast2 wasn't possible to start neither there. Had problems to logout because of
all error messages that popped up.
Then changed to and logged into a KDE session which worked much better, almost
normal. Had a single X crash related to Konqueror I think. Was able to start
other applications included the control center with Yast2 from the menu and
installed more application. Couldn't find the TSclient and such thing I used to
use with 10.1. (I don't like the new menu so far, but that is another story).
