[Bug 205730] display corruption, nvidia card, either driver

Ouch. What you still could check is, if this problem also occurs with lower
resolutions (try 1024x768). Maybe the GPU is driven over its limits. If this
also doesn't help (of course it doesn't since you want to have 1680x1050), the
only options I see is trying the proprietary driver. If this fails as well, I'm
pretty sure you should switch the gfx card. Something seem to be broken in the
hardware then. Get a GF 6600 instead. This should give you better results.
