https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=206369 Summary: Desktop icons shuffled on mounts and unmounts Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 4 Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse@netio.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Install from DVD (5 CD + non-oss, makeSUSEdvd), Gnome (no extras at initial install, some additional stuff installed after installation finished). Compaq sr1520nx (sempron 3100+, 1 gig RAM, 3 physical hard drives, 1 dvd recorder). Desktop shows two extra hard drives (mounted via fstab at /export/disc1 and /export/disc2) as 232.9 GB Volume and 232.9 GB Volum (2). Also has a folder to a remote server (SSH). Whenever I insert a CD or DVD, the two drive icons and the SSH remote folder icon appear to be randomly relocated on the Desktop. I don't think it is purely random, I think it is redrawing the icons as new icons and trying to find an empty place to put them, and seeing the original icon positions still in use (by themselves). The shuffling also happens if I use the eject command from the command line. The interesting thing is that the DVD I insert has stopped being automounted. It was earlier, but not any more. Yet, even though the automount appears to have stopped, the desktop icon reshuffling still happens. #1 - I don't think the two hard drives should be showing up as icons on the Desktop, since both are mounted at boot via fstab entries. I don't think they were showing up on 10.0, but am not positive. #2 - The icons should not be jumping around. Especially after I move them somewhere manually. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
