How about using nspluginwrapper
(http://www.gibix.net/projects/nspluginwrapper/) in order to able to run 32bit
plugins in 64bit internet browsers (Konqueror,Firefox)?

Advantage would be that both 32- and 64bit plugins could be used parallel.
nspluginwrapper seems to work rather good.
