Klaus, If you'd like a sounding board for your writeup, I'm very conversive on various sync-ing solutions, fairly knowledgeable about various cloud platforms and a fairly deep understanding (better than most) on security issues at many, many levels... all I think might be relevant to deploying a "Personal Cloud/Sync" solution. ownCloud looks very new and interesting, I may spend some time looking at it on my own regardless. Friends,
I promised to write something up about how owncloud could/should be integrated in the openSUSE distro. Would you mind looking into it and give feedback?
Thanks a lot,
Klaas
Looks good. One thing - ownCloud works on basis of WebDav. That has one big disadvantage: no local cache. It would become a far more viable option for our 'average user' if we could do something about that, somehow...
Just a thought :D
