Hi all.
we still got the oS Weekly News misformatted, e.g.:
http://news.opensuse.org/2011/07/10/opensuse-weekly-news-issue-183-is-out/
which looks quite ugly. First of all I would like to know if anyone is working on that? What is the reason that the layout breaks on the own? The rest of the posts look fine, so far.
It would be great to get this fixed. If it's a simple CSS issue, I guess I could help.
It would be a long story, if I explain the background why current HTML version of OWN doesn't look good, but in short: OWN are now primarily edited in DocBook/XML format and then converted to HTML and PDF files. The reason why the look of HTML of OWN isn't good may be that the script for generating HTML file from XML source isn't well polished yet and need to be improved, but ATM there isn't an expert at that in OWN team. And about issue #183 - Sascha had an network trouble last weekend and couldn't edit it so that I edited almost every part on behalf of him, but I'm not good at editing XML files and haven't well understood the mechanism of DocBook yet. Our options were, giving up publishing the issue or publishing it even if the look isn't good enough. And our choice was the latter because we thought 'it's always better than nothing'. If you don't like the result, your help for improving OWN will be always welcome. Please take a look at XML sources for OWN on BerliOS site first. https://developer.berlios.de/projects/osweeklynews/ Best, -- _/_/ Satoru Matsumoto - openSUSE Member - Japan _/_/ _/_/ Marketing/Weekly News/openFATE Screening Team _/_/ _/_/ mail: helios_reds_at_gmx.net / irc: HeliosReds _/_/ _/_/ http://blog.zaq.ne.jp/opensuse/ _/_/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+help@opensuse.org
