I told Henne I'd send that last night, but my internet connection went
down, so I went to bed instead ;-) Here's a first draft of an abstract
for the hack week-end:

=====
The openSUSE project is organizing a hack week-end in its development
room. Our explicit aim is to show to the attendees how we work, but also
to help new contributors participate in the project by targetting a
specific objective. Our hack week-end will be open to all, and we invite
everybody to step in and to help improve openSUSE.

The technical objective of this hack week-end is to enhance the
remplacement for our obsolete system for managing users and group
memberships. Since we wanted to introduce some social aspects to the
application, we decided to build this replacement on top of Elgg
platform (elgg.org). Most of the features we want in this system are
already available as Elgg plugins (or mods), that we will evaluate in
order to check they match our expectations. However, some additional
features will require the creation of new plugins. The features that
will be worked on during this hack week-end include: event calendar,
caldav, oauth, openid, geotagging, user awards, support for business
cards. Participants will also have the opportunity to influence where
this project is going, since the overall design is still open to
changes!

We will also help people work on other topics they are interested in.
With this hack week-end, we want people to discover the inner workings
of openSUSE by themselves!

(Thanks to Pavol who actually wrote draft 0 ;-))
