Hi, going through the list of mediawiki extensions, I found some that might be useful for our new wiki, and that I would like to try out:
- http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:VideoFlash allows us to embed videos from our youtube channel, and helps to move tube.o.o into the wiki
I have only synced videos from 2009 onwards to YouTube. BlipTV holds much more, and is also the place where people can download the .ogg files.
The choice is of course yours to make with regards to bandwidth vs content/download etc, just making sure there aren't any misconceptions :)
The plugin can handle a large number of video providers. I thought about using it to replace the tube.o.o frontpage with a wiki page, presenting some interesting videos integrated in our design with the possibility of multiple people contributing to it. It could also be used on distribution or KDE pages to include some show cases.
