I added the line to my autoyast control file in the software/image section.

I hope so :)

This script was the workaround for the problem. I removed that part for the 
test from now. 

Unfortunately the problem still exists.

The machine (VMWare) says:

Booting from local disk
Error no active partition

Operating system not found
-------

The config files for the grub setup /etc/grub.conf and /boot/grub/menu.lst are 
nearly empty:

cat /etc/grub.conf
quit

-------
cat /boot/grub/menu.lst
# Modified by YaST2. Last modification on Thu Jun 18 15:13:44 UTC 2009 default 0

Any ideas?
