I saw your recent blog at:

tested your suggestion and it does work. :-) But I was surprised because
I do not see the "stripes" and "stripesize" elements defined anywhere in
the XML schema. Is this something you intend to add to the schema, or is
it not necessary to have these present in the RNC/RNG files?

you are right, it should be in the schema too but since it is a "secret"
feature, it is not in there ;)
No seriously, I have to add that to the RNC/RNG files. It's a bug that it's
missing there.

And if not,
does that mean the XML validation is not really necessary?

it's working without a correct schema file too.
The validation complaints but the validation is not running when autoyast is
parsing and using the XML file for installation. Validation is just for users
to check their XML.

Further, I was wondering if you intend to add support for automatic
cloning of LVM striped volumes.

cloning of a striped LVM is on my TODO. If you clone it currently, the
striping information gets lost and you have to add it by hand.

Finally, I was wondering if you plan to add support for creating such a
profile via the Autoinst UI.

yes, I hope to have that on openSUSE 11.2

At the moment, the only to do it is to manually add the tags to the XML,
is that correct?

that's correct
