The control.xml file should not be changed.

I'm confused about the differences, during the installation process,
for autoyast.xml and control.xml files. If i want to skip some
configuration steps where should i add the option?
In the documentation:
http://www.suse.de/~ug/autoyast_doc/overviewandconcept.html
"A configuration file (referred to as "control file") is created using
existing configuration resources. The control file can be easily
tailored for any specific environment. "
It's not clear if you are talking about autoconf.xml or control.xml.
sorry for the confusion. In 99% of the cases I'm talking about the autoyast
profile and not about control.xml
The control.xml file should not be changed.
