I was reading about rocks (www.rocksclusters.org) and they are quite cleverly using bittorrent as a source for their kickstart installs.
what are they using bittorrent for? I visited their website but could not find out (I have to admit, I did not try very hard).
I was wondering if autoyast had any similar feature. Has anyone here ever tried anything similar? Any ideas/suggestions appreciated.
with 10.2 you can use scripts that can fetch and install a system instead of the regular RPM installation. Maybe you mean something like that? It's experimental though but here is an example: http://www.suse.com/~ug/autoyast_changes_10_1-10_2.html And it's not just experimental, it's buggy too.
