It has an ATI es1000. The problem does seem to be specific to SLES9.
I just confirmed that I can also install RHEL4 & RHEL5 without issue.

Hi,
It looks like the drivers on the sles9 sp3 initrd don't fully recognise the
gfx card properly. I'm not sure there is an easy solution to this though.
It's more a general setup question rather than an autoyast question.
What gfx card is it ?
