<cdromX>/suse/setup/descr directory there's a listing of .pat files. These are the pattern files. You should be able to 'cat' them out to view the details of each pattern.
AFAIK, the bottom of each pattern file, holds a section for the packages to be installed:
So 'cat xen_server- 10- 51.20.i586.pat' -- > at the end you'll see: +Prc: xen xen- libs xen- doc- html xen- doc- pdf xen- tools xen- tools- ioemu bridge- utils xterm
- Prc:
These are the RPMs installed by this pattern. Also, this pattern has a Requirement: +Req: basesystem
- Req:
So now you'd need to cat base- 10- 51.20.i586.pat to determine what RPMs are installed by that pattern as well. I'm certain there's a way to develop your own patterns too, I just haven't figured that out yet.

Where can i find a list of what is included in each pattern? Is there a command i can issue from the command line that will query for this?

This question was answered several hours ago on this list. You should check the list archives.
