Did anybody try autoyast on an s390(x) on an lpar ? Any idea where I can pass the autoyast=-parameter ? Thank you. Stefan Uwe Gansert <ug@suse.de> 12.05.2005 10:42 To Stefan Leippert/Germany/IBM@IBMDE cc Subject Re: [suse-autoinstall] sles9-s390 autoyast On Thursday 12 May 2005 10:32, you wrote:

please don't reply to me directly. Always reply to the list (that will be archived and so in the future, other people with the same problem might find the answer in the archive).
then you can add "autoyast=ftp://servername/profile_name.xml" to the linuxrc parameter list (that's where you configured the "install=nfs://...."
Where do I have to insert this parameters ? Into (boot/loader/isolinux.cfg)? http or ftp is fine.
the problem is, I don't know anything about s390 and so it might be, that the installation workflow is another than on an i586 system. On i586, if you boot a CD for example, you'll get a menue with a prompt where you can add kernel parameters, installation source and stuff like that. There you have to add the autoyast parameter to. I don't know where to do that on a s390 system.
You can manipulate the installation source, if you want that,
I think I have to do that, or is there another way to tell yast to look for the controlfile at another location.
well, I told you. Use http or ftp for the control file.
