I'm a relative newbie to SuSE/yast, so first question is: what's the
best way to search the list archive?
Second question is on setting up an installation server. I used script
in http://www.suse.de/~nashif/autoinstall/8.1/html/index.html and get an
apparently good manual install.
However, lsb-release thinks it's a UnitedLinux system, instead of a
SLES8 system.
When I install from the CD's, for lsb_release -a I get
# lsb_release -a
LSB Version: 1.2
Distributor ID: SuSE
Description: SuSE SLES-8 (i386)
Release: 8.1
Codename: n/a
From the NFS install, I get:
# lsb_release -a
LSB Version: 1.2
Distributor ID: UnitedLinux
Description: UnitedLinux 1.0 (i586)
Release: 1.0
Codename: n/a
This happens to be significant to us....
This means your NFS sources is not configured properly. This normally happens when only UL packages are installed, meaning that the installation is happening only from one source or if the order of the installation is wrong. (yast/{order,instorder}.
During package installation you should two sources on the right section of the interface, SLES and UL, If you only see one, then something is wrong.
Anas
Any pointers to correcting this would be much appreciated....
