Hi Darby, as I have seen the recognition of Hardware will occur after the second boot from harddisk after everything have been installed and you log in finally . Sometimes it could be nessecary to define a certain driver for a certain graphics card, but I don't know how to do this either. In the case of a sound card there is seldom to configure something. For a Network Card you can define the IP-Address and all other network specific data. After the mentioned auto-detect phase the recognized NIC will have the defined paramter. The Monitor resolution will be finally the highest possible what the monitor and the graphic board will be able to supply. But I am still looking for myself for a way to limit the resolution to a lower one. Regards, Kurt darby johnston schrieb:
Hi,
I'm trying to use yast2 to perform automatic installs on a wide range of pc hardware (I work for a computer recycler), and am trying to make the procedure as hands-off and automatic as possible. Ideally, I'd like to have one control file that can setup any of our machines. It looks like it's possible, but I haven't been able to figure out how to automate the sound and network card setup. I've read the available docs at http://www.suse.de/~nashif/autoinstall/82.html, and understand how to manually specify them, but didn't see an option for auto-detecting them. Any advice or pointers to further information on how to do this would be appreciated.
Thanks, Darby
