Hi,
If I try to use lvm with autoinstall with SuSE 8.0, the partitions in thelvm_group will not get formatted and the hd-partition used for the pv will not get initialized.
Thanks for tips Felix
My config file looks like this
...
<drive> <device>/dev/hda</device> <partition> false ext3</filesystem> 131 true</format> <mount>/</mount> <size>300M</size> <type>Linux native</type> </partition> <partition> false ext3</filesystem> 131 true</format> <mount>/boot</mount> <size>50M</size> <type>Linux native</type> </partition> <partition> false swap</filesystem> 131 true</format> <mount></mount> <size>100M</size> <type>Linux native</type> </partition> <partition> <size>auto</size> system primary </partition>I think the Problem is here while creating the LVM physical volume..
As described in the docs: " Partition sizes can be given in Gigabytes, Megabytes or can be set to a flexible value using the keywords auto and max. max is used to fill a partition to the maximal available space on a drive. auto can be used to determine the size of a swap or boot partitions which depend on memory and type of system. " auto can only be used for /boot and swap. max does make sense only when creating the last partition when you want to add all available space (what used to be 0 in alice and yast1) to the current partition. Please try with a fixed value. Anas
</partitions> <use>all</use> </drive> </partitioning>
