I agree as well, however I don't think that would help too much in this case since this is the first miniSummit. I do like the idea of having each event having a consistent identity via the logo -- I think this might be a very practical approach as well as allow us as a community to build strong 'brand recognition' around these events. Ideally, we would have a set of assets which can be easily modified to fit *any* event (except OSC as it is the main conference for the community).

I completely agree with this. One landmark event (the own Conference) which has an additional branding build on top of or inspired by the global branding, this would preserve the identity for our own events and enhance the visibility in general.
