[opensuse-artwork] Future t-shirt design consideations

While checking myself in the mirror after putting on an openSUSE shirt before going to a conference last week, I realized something. Some of our t-shirt designs have our logo in the center of our t-shirts. (Think of the circle-logo t-shirt many of us wear.) Since many of us wear openSUSE shirts when we are at a conference, it struck me that we need to carefully consider where we put the logo and other important relevant information. The reason is because when we put on our conference badge, it can block out the logo itself. Something to think about for future designs. Please use this thread to talk about all wiki pages, just change wiki page name, and include a link, like below. Some links, some instructions, and nothing that can be linked from Flickr page. Original idea was that volunteers, that look anyway for good photography and graphics, post links to their findings, but it was fast expanded to comments, actual links to photos, then it was added legal text, instructions, requirements that it must and page become not that usable. We (me) need(s) idea how to organize that topic on the wiki as one of start points for us looking for a good photos. For now I'm sure that: * Wallpaper_graphics_(proposals) must be exactly what name tells. Few images that are proposed for the next release. * Legal requirements, instructions for collectors and jury must be linked, but they must go on a separate pages. I'm still not giving up on a idea to have page with links to web pages of good photographers, and it doesn't matter are they on their own server or some common place like Flickr, or photo.net. PS. Good photographers are rare, but in a world of 6 bln. people there is a lot of them. After short search on a site, see this: http://photo.net/photodb/member-photos?user_id=1868466 In other words instead of making only our photos, we will be better off to look (as originally planned) for other people work and hone skills to have such photos in our collections. [opensuse-artwork] Git Request

Hello team As for today, we have been asked to defer any further changes to the git repo until the openSUSE conference is over. There are a few users of the repo who do not have a lot of bandwidth and any further changes will make them wait too long for changes to happen on their cloned repositories. If some of us are still looking to move some folders in the git repo, let's hold on to that until the conference is over. Hello team Today I finished reorganizing the folders on the artwork git. Please review. 1. CD Sleeve SVG templates were added to the repo. For the last release we did not have a template and we had to improvise the design of these sleeves. I am sure that with this addition we will make a stronger design this time around. The folder is under /Marketing Materials/CD Sleeve Template 2. Open Sans font collection was uploaded to git as well under the "Fonts" folder. Hello all I am currently in the middle of a reorganization of the folders in the artwork git repository. You may notice that many things are out of place. This work will take me some time but do not panic, the folders are safe and I have them. I am just figuring out the best way to commit to git and reorganize the folders. So far I understand, some time ago all artwork was moved to: https://github.com/openSUSE/artwork from https://gitorious.org/opensuse/art but checking activity at gitorius it is obvious that is still used. Hello again I have received comments recently of my performance as a team coordinator. It may seem that some think that this performance is not up to the standards of the community and have asked repeatedly for it to change. Unfortunately, I have not had the time to address these concerns or even know about them first hand. I have experienced a lot on the team and I love it. Surely there are better methods of handling the work to be done for the next release and things that can happen beyond that. For this reason, I think it better to have me step aside on this role and have a contributor with more experience in community matters be the go-to person for the team. My contributing to the team will remain unaffected. I will still create images, push for changes and support whoever the team chooses to take on this responsibility. It is better for the team to have someone who has the eye for good communication take on this responsibility and I will learn it along the way. If no one is willing to take on this coordinator call, I can still participate as such, but I would ask to please voice your concerns to me about the work being done. It is hard to find out that communication that involves my performance is done without me knowing. This only amounts to negativity that can be fixed if only there was more "communication" between the parts that disagree. I am always open to converse and decide. Hello everyone I would like to invite the team to participate in a revision of our current artwork wiki. I have been reviewing it myself for a few days and there is data there that seems incomplete or unstructured. However, I do not know what the intentions of all the links under artwork are for. These are pages that have stayed the same for a long time and it is probably now a good time to update it. Clean it up. If you would like to make a change, log in with your opensuse account to the wiki and edit the contents.
