Re: [opensuse-artwork] openSUSE-12.1 wallpaper

Hi all.

I agree, the mathematical shapes denote continuity. I simply wonder
how many people will understand the idea or even appreciate the
artwork. That was all. Hopefully Marcus continues to work with the
guidelines he has set. However, he cannot dismiss good artwork,
simply because "it's not what we want," that is why I suggested
that artwork that's proposed be used accordingly. It could be used
as an extra theme for kdm, or an extra wallpaper in the current
set of wallpapers.

It's not about dismissing good artwork. It's about concepts.

Take a look at e.g. how Fedora does it.

Wallpaper submissions should fit into that concept.

One idea is e.g. to create a surface for every release, and let ppl
create artwork based on that. And within these rules everyone is free
to do whatever he/she wants.

fwiw, I agree. And the idea of JDD having some shape and for each
release and tell people to use it somehow is very good.

Meanwhile, for 12.1, I like where your work is going. It's a bit too
smooth for my taste - look at what piotr did with the background. Maybe,
the two pieces of work fit together - the flower-like shape on the
background (which also features flower-like things). In any case,
something flower+mathematics is awesome, I like that stuff.

But as usual - I'm not an artist and suck at judging art too :D
