Re: [opensuse-artwork] Branding "Built on openSUSE"

Hi,

this needs to be revisited, I am sorry for not catching up here for
so long.

as we are working on a change of the branding guidelines to make
it easier to do openSUSE based derivates of the distribution. For
that, we will in one point of time need changed branding which
reflects a "Built on openSUSE" trademark to be used by derivates
(not yet settled and decided, but thats the idea).
More details: Soon we will have updated trademark guidelines which
make it much more easier to do openSUSE based distros without harming
the existing guidelines. That is on the TODO list for long now.

For that, it would be great if we had branding packages which replace
the ones from an "official opensuse distro" and carry the message
"This is a distro built on openSUSE". The design can and should be
similar to the "official" ones. I could imagine to just change the
colors on the "official" artwork to a brighter one, but I think we
could also be very successful with something different as Helen
suggested in her other mail. Its not neccessary to change everything
I think. The objective is to make the derivate easy distinctable from
the official one, so I guess we're talking mainly desktop background
and boot splash and Yast.

Note that this design will be widely spread as it will probably become
default in SUSE Studio, so its definetely important and an great
representation of the project.

I am unfortunately not able to name all the branding packages which have
to be changed, but maybe somebody on this list knows or I will find out.

I'd like to ask if the artwork team would be so nice to come up
with suggestions how we could vary the openSUSE distro branding to
get the "Built on openSUSE" branding.
That would be great :-)

If there are further questions I promise to sort them out.
