Maybe it's just the way I just associated the gray / dark system...the point is 
that in the gnome view, you have nowhere any black on the screen... so it looks 
a bit misplaced.

whereas in kde, you still have the dark on the screen afterwards (the dash bar 
or however it may be called now ;)
