A quick test shows that : * upstream u-boot-am335xboneblack : boots on Beagle Bone Black * upstream u-boot-am335xevm : is broken on Beagle Bone Black I guess, you can switch to u-boot-am335xboneblack package and it should be fine. But we will loose compatibility with TI EVMs, which are not officially supported and I am not sure anyone using openSUSE bone image on it.
