hi, The machine hangs during the *1st reboot* of the installation process. I never got as far as completing the installation (i.e. no root password was entered, no additional users were added, etc). So I was not able to perform YOU update. The boot CD was created using the boot.iso/9.3-x86-64-Network-Installation.iso. Since I was subsequently able to install both FreeBSD/Gentoo on this machine, I think the problem lies on the default kernel that the boot.iso installs. Perhaps all I need is an updated boot.iso? Is there a way to "update" the installation CD? tia,
