Hi Alain, modified the /etc/X11/XF86Config as explained in the README file. 3D (inclusive 3D games) and TV out are working. Also the increase of the video performance is amazing. Only wine fails. I'm not sure if this is only suse-amd64 related or a general problem with the new ATI driver kr ... Detlef Black, Alain schrieb:
Hi Detlef,
On more question, in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file in the "Device" section do you have it set to load "dri", and there are two other changes that need to be made, that elude me at the moment.
I think one is "VideoOverlay" "On" And "OpenGLOverlay" "Off" in one of the other sections down below.

Detlef,
I was using that driver under 9.2 with winex with no problems. I used it to play Counter-Strike.
What does fglrxinfo show for the rendering device? I had to run
through
the install documentation twice to get it to stop using the MESA driver for some reason.

After installing the "fglrx-8.12.10-1.1.x86_64.rpm" ATI Driver, wine (20050419) is not working anymore. Starting a win32 program with wine generates only a black screen. Has anyone heard that there is an issue with this combination?
