If
memory serves me correct there was a problem with 9.1 and the hotplugging/subfs
where this happened. I have to admit that i was on 32-bit at the time and
there were many people who had the same problem - search the suse-linux-e
archives.

I do not think that there ever was a solution for this in 9.1
apart from switching off the subfs

Upgrading to 9.2 where it works in both 32 & 64 bit version may be your
only solution.
