Argh! Should have proof read the post below a little closer before I sent it out.
That one sentence should have read:
In the BrushedMetal-Tigert theme for enlightenment which is the default that it comes up with
after you install E, none of the root window menus are readable because of a font issue.....

Subject: [suse-amd64] Default enlightenment theme (BrushedMetal-Tigert) main menus are not readable
In the BrushedMetal-Tigert theme for enlightenment which is the default that it comes up with
after you install E, none of the root window menus are not readable because of a font issue with
the default menu font specified in:
/usr/X11R6/share/enlightenment/themes/BrushedMetal-Tigert/menustyles/menustyles.cfg
I tried changing the default menu font in the above file (since the one specified is not available on the
SuSE-9.2 x86_64 system I just installed here) to one that was available but it made no change
to the menus. That default font BTW specified in the above file is
"-*-lucida-medium-r-normal-*-*-100-*-*-p-*-iso8859-1"
Also the way I was able to get enlightenment to be my default window manager was to do the following:
export WINDOWMANAGER=/usr/X11R6/bin/enlightenment
