Thought so.
Why such a severe kernel error (that frezzes the machine and only a cold reboot can bring it to life) if it's just a filesystem error? Alex
With the filesystem being really the bottom layer of the whole software that runs your computer there is no such thing as "just a filesystem error". Suppose a critical kernel file is affected by a bad block. That will do your kernel in easily. On the other hand, if it were just a simply user file you'd only recognize it by using an application that tries to read or write to that file. You will find corresponding error messages in your logs and it is always good to keep an eye on those in order to spot a disk problem early on to be able to take action before it gets worse. Cheers, Alex.
