Hello
I've been completely unsuccessful in getting sound to work on this motherboard. YaST cannot see it at all. However, several people have reported "no problems". Is this with or without tweaking the configuration? What sound driver are you using? According to the documentation, the sound chip is AD1980. Can anyone help this poor sap?

I had a similar problem with 9.0 and a K8V deluxe - it appeared that the sound was set up & configured but nothing was coming through the speakers. Someone on this list recommended going into the audio control panel via YAST and setting all the volume controls to 100 (there are a bunch) and then adjusting the ones you needed. This worked for me - I had sound after that. I have no idea which combination triggered the solution - I just shotgunned it.
However, I have a plain K8V now on another box with 9.1 but I haven't had time to play with it (no speakers connected), so I don't know exactly about that one.
Good luck.

Hmmmm.. In my case, YaST doesn't even see the sound hardware.
