Hi,
i've installed SUSE 9.1 perfectly, i've upgraded suse 9.1 via yast and now, i (franck's user) can't mount dvdrecorder and/or my usb drive. Only root can do that :(
Mount it? Since SuSE 9.1 it is not longer necessary to mount the dvdrecorder. It uses supermount. But you could also switch back again.
What do you have in your /etc/fstab?
/dev/dvdrecorder /media/dvdrecorder subfs fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8 0 0
On KDE's Desktop, when i clic on "poste de travail" (in french), i see dvdrecorder but, when i'm clic on it, nothing do :(
Is the user franck member of the cdrom - Group?
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2004-11-17 19:10 /dev/dvdrecorder -> hdc brw-rw---- 1 franck disk 22, 0 2004-04-06 19:56 /dev/hdc brw-rw---- 1 root disk 22, 1 2004-04-06 19:56 /dev/hdc1
looks right to me.
Yes, so am i :(
I've never changed my group on system
In a few hours, all work fine, i've plugged my usb disk, none work :(
Regards
Franck
Maybe it is a KDE Problem. I have also once encountered Problems with "Arbeitsplatz". Does the dvdrecorder icon appear?
Yes, i see the icon ...
Have you tried to access the drive in the shell?
cd /media/dvdrecorder
If it works there it is a problem in KDE.
No, folder is empty :(
If that is the case you should also try to add a new user, log in with it and look if the problem is also there.
