I haven't come across any 64-bit plugins to date, I guess most people are using 32-bit still. That's usually the trouble with some software makers both opensource and especially with proprietary stuff, they are always years behind. To expect a binary only (proprietary) module to be produced for 64-bit
is asking the impossible at this stage. I asked the question of codeweavers.com about crossover-office/plugin and they said they hadn't tried 64-bit yet, but they think it should be easy, they hope. They have some windows plugins that work with 32-bit browsers and it would be nice to get some 64-bit stuff.
I've found problems as follows:-
* anything that includes a 32-bit binary-only module (e.g slmodem driver) won't compile.
* Some sources won't compile if they are harcoded to look in /lib rather than /lib64. I tried altering the sources, but it seemed more needed to be done. Some sources will happily configure and build as 64-bit.
* pcmcia-cs-3.2.7 says it won't compile the drivers because I have pcmcia built into the kernel, I shall try to build a kernel without pcmcia modules enabled on 2.6.6-rc3 to see if I can get the pcmcia modem working, hoping that it will be OK on 2.6.x.
I got interrupted earlier while searching google to see if it's possible to compile 32-bit on amd64, I haven't got back to it yet.
Regards
Sid.
