I haven't had much luck playing commercial DVDs yet, but that appears to be largely a matter of not getting the software configured correctly. I'm told mplayer is the program to use though. I've just used the cd/dvd burner program that's installed with Suse9 (K3B or somesuch...) works beautifully... -----Original Message----- From: Stephen Williams [mailto:1mc9i5i02@sneakemail.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2004 6:25 PM To: suse-amd64@suse.com Subject: [suse-amd64] DVD for AMD64 I would like to get a DVD R/RW drive for my AMD64/SLES8 system, for the primary purpose of backups, although playing/writing video DVDs seems mildly entertaining as well. Are there any success reports for specific drives with this configuration?
