Hi.
I want to know if OpenExchange Server does run on X86-64 Hardware at all and if it makes sense at all. We are purchasing the SLES8 right now and want to use OpenExchange on that machine (dual opteron).
It depends on the mainboard. If it has the new VIA or Nvidia chipsets then you may need an updated kernel to use IDE with DMA. SCSI will probably work fine. If it is based on the AMD chipsets (AMD-8111/8131) then everything should work. It will not use the 64bit features though because SLOX is an 32bit operating system. -Andi
