Not the same, statement 14 "Termination" of FB Terms of Use says: if you close your account, statements 2.2 (and others) still apply. Statement 2.2 says if you delete content it will be backed up indefinitely.
If you cannot control it then it is not yours.
But remember, that's only my opinion and I think they are not migrating users from FB to G+. So don't be afraid. For us (openSUSE users/ambassadors) is just another channel to spread the word. Just that.
but anyway, I personnally think Google become too big a company to be reliable

On the other hand, I never liked FB and never had an account on it, G+ for me is better and as it's been said it is a twitter with more stuff on it and I love Twitter... Circles is something great I think, and let you make a nice and smooth separation of the people that have access in my personal data. There in no reason to argue about anything, it is what fits to whom.
