Hi all, I have some ideas in my mind, please take these when making the final procedure. I ll note my ideas in the current process. I like to suggest a mentoring process, the selected group can do it. Adopt it if it is good. * Frank wants to join openSUSE as ambassador => [No Modifications] * Frank reads http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Ambassadors_list which tells him to contact myself to become an ambassador. => [Modifications - The procedure should be revised as noted below ] * Frank sends AJ an email => [Modifications - Frank should sent an email to the list, noting his request, it is good the team can have people from different areas of the world, APAC etc ] * AJ send Frank an email with the questionnaire => [Modifications - one from the team should contact Frank as they are available and send the questioner to Frank PLUS he investigate the Frank's contribution/ commitment to openSUSE when Frank answers] * Frank answers => [Modifications - Frank answers to the question directly to the mentor plus the list PLUS answers to the additional info requested by the mentor] * AJ check that Frank has created a user page in the English wiki => [Modifications -Mentor should check the user page and other things] * AJ briefly go over the questionnaire => [Modifications - The mentor should go through the questionnaire thoroughly and send the mentors recommendation to the list] * AJ send Frank an email welcoming him as ambassador => [Modifications - AJ consider the recommendation and put green color to add Frank ] * AJ send an email to opensuse-ambassadors and welcome Frank as new ambassador and attach the questionnaire => [NO Modifications - ] * AJ add Frank as ambassador the the wiki list and adjust number of ambassadors/countries as appropriate. => [Modifications - one from the team (the mentor) can do this or AJ can handle it if he is ok] * AJ also answer questions Frank has regarding beining an ambassador and take care to ship him e.g. PromoDVDs. => [NO Modifications - ] ** Frank can contact the mentor anytime and get needed info and the same time the mentor can guide him too. Cos i saw some inactive accounts, the inactive person should be monitored and make them work towards the openSUSE. PLUS I assume the people join knows little about openSUSE, procedure and all. Therefore it is good if some one guide them and if they have no target assign targets by discussing with them, that would be really effective anyway. Those modifications help to reduce work load on AJ plus ensure the correct person (having passion) is on the board.
