Wouldn't it be more clean/elegant to either add a --xml swtch to the existing list-updates command, or a global switch --xml-output which affects all commands, than adding a new command? I would prefer a "--xml-output" switch too, but "-xml-updates" command lists updates and patches. That would result in calling zypper twice (zypper pch --xml-output, zypper lu --xml-output). Perhaps I should rename the command. What about "xml-list-updates-patches"? maybe, if this is a thing that is more often asked, it would be nice then to have it processing a stack on the command line. something like zypper --xml-output pch + lu I would see the plus like a 'CR' in case of zypper shell. so the following two things would be equivalent: 1) #zypper sh
