[zypp-devel] zypper speed indication
Hi everybody, just a short question, I'm sure you already spotted it and it is fixed 'somewhere'.. (but not yet in oS:Factory). I'm performing a zypper dup and it tells me nicely it's downloading all the packages with an indication in B/s (so Bytes per second). I very much hope it is kidding: the number hardly goes beyond 150 B/s. If I verify gnome-system-monitor, I can see transfers of about 150 KB/s... so I assume that simply the K is missing in the output? Normally I'm very fast in canceling a transfer at that speed: I would never let it download 1GB like that ;) Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org

It could also be that it's missing the m before the s - but it's less likely :) Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org

Yes: Fri Mar 6 17:17:26 CET 2009 - dmacvicar@suse.de - aria2: show the download speed in the right unit http://git.opensuse.org/?p=projects/zypp/libzypp.git;a=commitdiff;h=ea3e4e0c... http://git.opensuse.org/?p=projects/zypp/libzypp.git;a=commitdiff;h=935924cf... -- Martin Vidner, YaST developer http://en.opensuse.org/User:Mvidner Kuracke oddeleni v restauraci je jako fekalni oddeleni v bazenu -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org

Could be... but was very unlikely at least in my setup here. The internet connection is 10mbit. But me not being alone ant it being shared with the AC/VPN of all the branch offices gives me normally around 200KiB/s (with some peaks of 1MiB/s)... But as Martin just pointed out in the next reply, this was solved indeed already on March 6. (to bad... it's not yet in oS:Factory... like also the colors.. I want them too) Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org

Coolo (probably) means: 150 B/ms ~ 150 KB/s ~ 146.5 kB/s Just a joke but actually a good one ;) L.

Indeed... I was reading over it way to fast... 150 B/ms sounds like an interesting way to measure speed nowadays. We should actually use it at someplace ;) Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org
