Uh, why is it printing the vendor all the time? The vendor is very likely not changing inside of a repository, so printing the repository name should be enough. Maybe it should group the packages by repository, i.e.: -------------------------------------------------------------- Updated packages to "Main Update Repository": libtiff3-3.8.2-108.2.i586 gcc-4.3-39.1.i586 alsa-1.0.16-39.1.i586 Updated packages to "Pacman Repo": xkeyboard-config-1.2-42.1.i586 Downgraded packages to "openSUSE 11.0 OSS": xlockmore-5.25-17.1 Architecture changes from "i686" to "i586": alsa-1.0.16-39.1.i586 Vendor changes from "SUSE LINUX Pro..." to "http://packman.li...": alsa-1.0.16-39.1.i586 New packages from "Main Update Repository": ImageMagick-6.4.0.4-20.1.i586 Deleted packages: screen-4.0.2-165.1.i586 -------------------------------------------------------------- I think this would make it much easier to understand what's going on. First, the subject should mention 'install summary', not just 'output'. Peter Poeml wrote:

Why the sarcastic tone? :O) Come on, i've got tens of ideas to improve the install summary (and that's only a small part of zypper) but i also have just one head (not too fast, i admit :O) an one pair of hands. Look it the list of YUM developers: http://devel.linux.duke.edu/gitweb/?p=yum.git;a=blob_plain;f=AUTHORS;hb=HEAD and i don't wanna know how old the project is. So, i wouldn't mind some helping hands to get these cool things done faster (this is aimed on the community and people with too funny notes :O) not colleagues who have enough work already).
- alphabetically sorted yeah, i should've done that a long time ago, i'll fix that soon
- easily visible that a kernel update is due - kernel is installed (!) not updated - etc etc
Nevertheless, thank you gyus for the ideas, i (or some helping hands perhaps :O) will consider them while improving the install summary (bug #389128). cheers, jano -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org

Sorry, I didn't actually meant to be sarcastic with that. Only ironical, due to the obviousness, unfortunately under omission of a smiley. Didn't want to offend you. Let's think I tried to be funny and failed ;) Peter -- Contact: admin@opensuse.org (a.k.a. ftpadmin@suse.com) #opensuse-mirrors on freenode.net Info: http://en.opensuse.org/Mirror_Infrastructure SUSE LINUX Products GmbH Research & Development
