[uyuni-users] Current release/list of releases
Hi, How does one figure out which release is currently installed. patterns-uyuni-4.0-400.9.1.uyunimaster refers to which release? -Steve -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: uyuni-users+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: uyuni-users+owner@opensuse.org
In this case, check the release notes packages (release-notes-uyuni for the server, release-notes-uyuni-proxy for the proxy), and of course the WebUI. With 4.0.X we didn't change the version of the pattern package. With 2020.XX we are changing it, so pattern for 2020.04 will be version 2020.04. This is, assuming you are using Stable. If you are using devel/master, there's no versioning as such there. We adjust versions usually during promotion to Stable. On jueves, 16 de abril de 2020 18:05:35 (CEST) Steve Moring wrote:

release-notes-uyuni-4.0.2-400.4.1.uyunimaster.x86_64 So, 4.0.2?

If using the Stable repositories, yes, seems to be the case NOTE: as long as you didn't anything "strange" with the packages, such as trying individual updates, but nobody should do that :-) On jueves, 16 de abril de 2020 18:43:01 (CEST) Steve Moring wrote:

Julio, The documentation on upgrading doesn't go beyond changing the repo for the upgrade, eg: sed -i -e 's/Uyuni-Server-4.0-POOL-x86_64-Media1/Uyuni-Server-POOL- x86_64-Media1/' /etc/zypp/repos.d/uyuni-server-stable.repo I'm assuming: # zypper dup will upgrade. -Steve On Thu, 2020-04-16 at 18:49 +0200, Julio González Gil wrote:

Yes, the only difference for a 4.0.X to 2020.04 upgrade from any other standard upgrade is that you need to change repositories before starting, as instructed on the release notes: https://www.uyuni-project.org/doc/2020.04/release-notes-uyuni-server.html#_a...
Adjust your repository at the Server system Because of the version format change, you need to adapt your zypper repository at the server before updating. [...]
That's also the reason for this note:
Before migrating from 4.0.1 to a newer version check the release notes, as a special procedure is needed!
At https://www.uyuni-project.org/pages/stable-version.html As 2020.04 now has the automated database schema upgrade, so you don't need to call spacewalk-schema-upgrade (if something fails, check the release notes as it's explained how to get more information, besides the standard ways). I'm assuming: # zypper dup
will upgrade.

Hi
For stable releases, you can also do:
$ cat /etc/uyuni-release
Uyuni release 2020.04
Thank you

But AFAIK not if he's on < 2020.04. IIRC this is new for 2020.04, right?
Thank you
